It uses a line graph to compare a portfolio's value either by itself or against one of the selected benchmarks (Global/Default, standard or composite benchmark). The interval on the graph is automatically set. If the report period is <=31 days, the graph and report legend data will break down to Daily; if the report period is >=32 and <=93 Days, we will classify the graph and report legend data to Weekly; if the report period is >=94 and <=364 Days, the graph and report legend data will break down to Monthly; if the report period is >=365 Days, the graph and report legend data will break down to Quarterly. Assets held in Balance, Manual and External Accounts are excluded from this report.

The benchmarks are adjusted by the buy and sell activity occurring in your account to allow for a direct comparison.

The legend located below the graph will show the Combined Account Portfolio performance Rate-of-Return (ROR) compared to the return of each benchmark over the Time Periods. If the "Show only Summary line in report legend" was checked for "Yes" in Administration (Report Settings - Benchmark), the report will exclude period performance in the report legend. The type of Benchmark that is applied here is prearranged through Portfolio creation. The benchmark selection can be modified through Edit Portfolio. Administrator will have the ability to modify the high level aspect of Benchmark setting from the Report Settings segment in Administration.

Your advisor may include a total investment line chart, which include an additional line item representing the capital invested portion of the portfolio to the report graph.

Investments Since Start Date - Calculates the sum of all cash flow affecting transactions since the beginning of the account history to the beginning value of the report period. The benefit of this method is that the line represents a true measure of the client's total invested funds. The graph illustrates the result of the advisor's investment decisions relative to capital investment by the client.

Beginning Value and Investments - The beginning value of the "Beginning Value and Investments" Line is pegged to the beginning value of the portfolio total. It is then adjusted through the graph in the same way as "Investments Since Start Date" by adding subsequent capital flows at each interval. The benefit of this method is that the graph can illustrate how much of the portfolio change for that period is a reflection of the market vs. capital changes.

      Core Multi-Period Performance Report

The Core Multi-Period Performance report is a Date report. The report displays a segmented performance return (which is a daily time weighted return in compliance with AIMR reporting standards) for Core Accounts only. This report is sorted by Investor and account number and displays the Rate-of-Return (ROR) from: Since Start Date, Year to Date, Quarter to Date, Month to Date, Last Quarter and Last Month. The ROR for the "Since Start Date" period will be annualized if the time period is for more than one year. If the portfolio has distinct Cash/Margin assets, the ROR displays as a part of the Net Equity calculation. Assets held in Balance, Manual and External Accounts are excluded from this report.

      Gain/Loss By Investor Report

The Gain/Loss By Investor Report (formerly known as Cost Basis Report) displays cost basis information, realized and unrealized gain/loss information on an asset level from inception to the selected date of the report. Realized gain/loss information will be displayed for the calendar year chosen, showing all assets liquidated that year up to the selected report date. Unrealized gain/loss information is based on the date the user designates the report to be run. Cost basis is based on the price at which the security was purchased adjusted for Asset ID changes, stock splits, dividend reinvestments, withholdings and return of capital. The Realized amount shows what profit or loss was incurred due to sales that occurred during the calendar year. The Unrealized amount is based on assets that are still owned as of the report date. The Unrealized and Realized amounts are totaled for each asset. If the portfolio has distinct Liability assets, the Account level sub-total now displays the Liability asset(s) description along with the summed value. The Investor and Portfolio sub-totals display "Liability Balance" and the summed value. Below the Liability Balance for account level and investor level is Account Net Equity for account level and Investor Net Equity for investor level. Balance, Manual and External Account's Realized and Unrealized Value will be N/A on this report. Cost Basis Source (Tax Lot (M), Tax Lot (S), AVG Cost Assignment, Whole History and Incomplete Information) is shown for each Account depending on Privilege Level. Initial Lot Date is not shown for AVG Cost Assignment and Tax Lot (S).

When running the Gain/Loss By Investor Report, you will automatically be sent to the "AVG Cost Assignment" screen if the portfolio has not been previously reviewed by you and cost basis has not yet been assigned for all assets. You may also use the Historical Entry function (if available) to update cost basis information.

      Core Summary Report

The Core Summary Report is a condensed version of the Statement Report. It is a Time Period report. This report combines several essential report components such as: Portfolio Summary, Cost Basis, Multi-Period Performance, Portfolio Values and Benchmark, Asset Allocation by Investment Objective, and Asset Allocation by Asset Type. The Portfolio Summary has five categories: Since Start Date, Last Calendar Year, Year to Date, Last Calendar Quarter and Selected Period. Cost Basis information lists the Realized and Unrealized Gain or Loss; however, this portion of the report will be omitted if cost basis is missing and waiting to be assigned. Performance by Account breaks down the Multi-period Performance Report to the account level. The rate of return for each account includes: Since Start Date, Last Calendar Year, Year to Date, Last Calendar Quarter and Selected Period. Asset Allocation by Investment Objective may condense the number of Investment Objectives by combining the smallest ones into one Objective called "Other". This is due to space limitations built into the report. Your Broker Dealer may have replaced Investment Objective and/or Asset Type in the report fields with a different description of their own choosing. In the Portfolio Summary section, the Net Contribution amount is a summary of all cash flows in the account for the specific time period indicated. This report only contains Core Accounts and cannot be included in the Report Package Report.

Cash - Your Broker Dealer have the option of combining cash and money market balances on reports. If elected, the Cash and Money Market balances would be combined. The net result will display as the "Cash" balance of the account. So if account A has -$500 of cash and $1200 of Money Market, the new "Cash" balance would be $700 (and Money market would not show up at all).

Liability - Any asset (except Cash and Margin) with a negative balance throughout the report period will qualify as a "Liability". Cash and Margin balances within Brokerage accounts will not qualify as "Liabilities" on reporting even if the balances are negative.
